The princess had difficulty deciding which door to indicate to her lover because she knew that would put her in danger. She also knew the consequenses if she told her lover which door to open. It was also difficult because she knew had to make a choice, she knew that she was going to lose him regardless, but she had to make a decision wether she wanted to lose him to death or to another woman.
